Is it Fear Holding You Back?

Just as Esther Hicks has a collective called Abraham, I have a collective as well. There is one that speaks to me from the group. He said I can call him Sam. Today I had a question about fear…

Sam, how do you know when it’s just fear holding you back or if it’s not the right time or direction?

A: As you’ve been beginning to realize first hand, up til now you haven’t been living your life consciously. The first thing you should always do is ask the question (as you just did). Then become present. Close your eyes, take a deep breath. Feel your body, the temperature of the air around you. Listen to your breath, feel the air rushing in, expanding your chest and abdomen. What do you hear around you? What do you smell? Once you are completely present, ask the question again. Is it fear stopping me or is there something else – or both? Keep on asking questions: What will support me and keep me safe? What do I need right now? If this isn’t the path for me, guide me today in a better direction. What do I need to be on the look out for? What am I not seeing? What does my heart long for?

Remember you’re not going to ever be rid of fear. Living your passion has the ability to turn your fear into excitement.

Are you Committed or just Involved?

Both of my sons want to do many activities and the one major request my husband and I make of them is that once they start an activity, they commit to it. When asked, both of my sons will say they are committed, but they don’t go the extra mile or always put in the work necessary to get a project done.

Then yesterday my husband asked my oldest son, William, if he knew what the difference was between being committed or just involved. When my son couldn’t give an answer my husband replied, “Imagine a breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon. The chicken was involved with giving you that breakfast. The pig was committed.”

The Pig Was Committed!

That statement blew me away and got me thinking about opening my own wellness center. I’ve been “working on it” for over a year now. I thought I was committed to it. I would do research on businesses, create some fliers, do some marketing and bitch that I’m not able to get any clients or earn enough money to have a brick and mortar business. But in actuality I’m only involved in my vision. I see clearly now that I’m not fully committed to opening a wellness center.

Do you have a vision and goal that you haven’t been able to achieve? If so, my question to you is are you committed or just involved? Are you the chicken or the pig?

Are you Connected to the Divine?

I had a fabulous Spiritual Divorce coaching session today. I SO love this model as each time I support a client I receive valuable wisdom myself! Today was all about the Law of Divine Guidance. While having a conversation with my client I was so struck by the message I was giving her as something I really needed to take heed of myself. We were talking about how the emotions we feel during the ending of a relationship can have us take on a defensive roll and act out of knee jerk reactions and drive us to protect ourselves any way we can.

I’m currently being audited by the IRS and while this isn’t the relationship pain of a divorce, I have this running “relationship” theme with money that puts me back to being 17 years old and having my check book taken away from me because I bounced a check and threatened the good standing my family had with the bank. Any time a bad situation comes up around money I just want to run, hide and avoid it at all costs. As I was having the conversation with my client, I just wanted to cry as I realized I wasn’t allowing my connection to the Divine support me; I realized how I had forgotten that I’m not alone in my struggles with the IRS.

The Law of Divine Guidance promises that we are safe and can let go of our struggles and old patterns and behaviors of the past. The Divine calls us to have the courage to choose to surrender and have faith in a power greater than ourselves. We can’t always know what’s in our highest interest, but when we are connected to the Divine, we can know there is always good in our present circumstances.

So I want to invite you right now to connect with the Divine. Take a moment, close your eyes and invite her to sit next to you. And after a few moments, ask the Divine what she wants to share with you today and take the time to really listen. It’s in this place that miracles can happen!
